Gregory Thomas Cowdrey

Gregory Thomas Cowdrey; of Lake Orion; passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, after a long battle with cancer, on Friday, July 15, 2022 at age 72.

Beloved father of Shawn (Scott) Reszczyk, Amy Knapp, and Adam (Jenny) Cowdrey; loving grandfather of Amanda (Justin) Barger, Haley Knapp, Abigail Knapp, Jacob (Becca) Noe, Aimee (Wes) Hammond, and Owen (Sharley) White; and adoring great-grandfather of Raleigh, Kennedy, and McKenzie Barger, Macie White, and Emma & Jack Hammond.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife Cheryl; his father Ted; his mother Patricia; and his brother Ted.

He will be forever missed by his family and friends. He had an infectious smile and the best sense of humor. He was a fighter, strong and independent; hated to ask for help through the very end. He was extremely proud of, and cared immensely for his family. He was always gentle, generous, and kind, even when a firm approach was needed. He was a loyal friend to many that were lucky enough to know him.

He worked very hard for many years, providing for his young family, working countless jobs for General Motors, managing a few gas stations, serving on Groveland Township’s Fire Dept., and doing Inspection work post-retirement. He was a brilliant man who had a fun, creative mind, and put his best into everything he did.
