Gus Roosevelt Nix Jr.

Mr. Gus R. Nix was born March 5, 1944 in Greenville, SC to the late Gus and Bessie Nix. He departed this life on August 19, 2018. Gus was educated in Greenville School System and graduated from Sterling High School in 1963. After graduating from school, he was drafted into the US Army, where he served 1 year in the Vietnam War. He was employed at General Motors in Pontiac, MI for 41 years. Gus leaves to cherish his memory, his loving and devoted wife Sandra Nix of Pontiac, MI.  His children Nikita (Keith) Kuhn-Yarbro of Toledo, OH, Danotiss (Belinda) Smith, Attaria Woods of Pontiac, MI, Cornelius Nix and James Nix of Bay City, MI.  Funeral Service will be held on Monday, August 27, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Stephen Missionary Baptist Church (69 S. Astor St. Pontiac).  The family will receive friends on Sunday, August 26, 2018 from 2-6 p.m. at Sparks-Griffin Funeral Home, Pontiac.  Interment will take place on Tuesday, August 28, 2018 at 2 pm at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, MI where he will be laid to rest.
