Lake Orion Harry Seron, 68, of Onsted passed away Friday, Dec. 7, 2007, at home.Harry was born on Dec. 12, 1938, in Detroit, the son of Frank Seron and Victoria (Ochala) Slomba. He was one of six children and grew up in the Detroit area. He attended Oak Park High School and worked as a car mechanic as a young man. Later he owned a service station in Drayton Plains and in 1966 began a career with Ford Motor Company. He made his home in Lake Orion raising his three children. In his spare time he enjoyed gardening and fishing. In his retirement he resided in Onsted with his brother Andy and sister-in-law, Donna. Harry is survived by his children, Harry C.W. Seron (Amy) of Virginia Beach, VA; Lloyd S. Seron of Oxford; and Dionna M. Major (Gerard) of Lake Orion. He is also survived by his grandchildren Ashley, Zachary, Raymond and Paige; his sisters Connie Michael and Barbara Slomba; and his brother Robert Slomba. Harry was preceded in death by his parents, his step-father Chester Slomba, his sister Claire Baird, and his brother Andrew Seron.A viewing will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2007 at Sparks-Griffin Funeral Home in Lake Orion from 11 a.m. until 7 p.m. A catholic memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. at the funeral home. Harry will be laid to rest at Square Lake Cemetery in Lake Orion. Memorial contributions are suggested to American Cancer Society.
