Helen L. Smith "Granny"; of the Orion & Oxford Area; passed away December 16, 2014 at the age of 90. Helen is survived by her children, Betty (John) Greer, Sandy Loop, Roger Smith and Jenny (Chip) Mercier; grandchildren, Milo (Annie) Loop, Nathan (Sarah) Loop, Christina (Ken) Wood, Angela Neef, Steven (Stacey) Mercier and Stephanie Scholtan; and 17 great grandchildren. She will also be missed by her special friends, Jay and Kathi Havener, Wayne and Brenda Bullock, Julie Fox and Charles McCall. Helen was preceded in death by her son Steve Smith and grandson Andy Greer. She retired from St. Joseph Hospital after 21 years. Helen was a member of the Oakwood Restoration Branch of Jesus Christ and greatly enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 20, 2014 at 11 am at Sparks-Griffin Funeral Home, Lake Orion. The family will receive friends on Friday from 1 to 7 pm.
