Hilda Rosa Torres

Hilda Rosa Torres; age 78; departed from us Friday, March 6, 2020 at McLaren Hospital – Oakland. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 11, 2020 at 12:00 p.m. at 2da Iglesia Pentecostal, Puerta del Cielo, 433 Highland Ave, Pontiac, MI 48341 with Pastor Ricardo Rivera officiating. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at 2da Iglesia Pentecostal, Puerta del Cielo. Interment at Perry Mount Park Cemetery.

Hilda was born in Villalba, Puerto Rico on June 20, 1941 to Julio Fuentes and Rosa Rentas. She leaves behind to cherish her memory her husband, William Torres; children, George (Maria) Fuentes and Elisa (Edwin) Sanchez; grandchildren, Jessica (Andre), Natasha (Kendrick), Rachel (Brian), Michael (Michelle) and Raymond (Sarah); great grandchildren, Tatiana, Aaliyah, Talayah, Michael Jr., Cayden and Kynsley; siblings, Elba (Shorty) Navarro and Rita Lopez; and a host of nieces and nephews, along with other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Julio Fuentes and Rosa Rentas; and her sister Marvia Jusino.

Hilda was a homemaker who loved to cook authentic dishes for her family and passed this art on to her daughter. She was an extraordinary wife, mother and grandmother. In 1976 Hilda dedicated her life to Chirst at Iglesia de Dios, Inc. leading the church as a missionary alongside her husband, Rev. William Torres for 32 years.

The family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Sparks-Griffin Funeral Home, Pontiac.
