Julio was a dedicated and hard worker who never missed a day of work and retired in 2006 after working 31 years for varies divisions of General Motors Company, finally retiring from Drayton Plains Division where co-workers gave him his nickname Julio. He was a former volunteer of Meals on Wheels, a long time member of St. Vincent Catholic Church and former member of La Loma Mexican Club where he loved to go dancing every weekend with family and friends. In his earlier years he was a Basketball Coach for a University in Mexico. He loved spending time with the entire family in our childhood home back yard, grilling fajitas while listening to his Mexican music and watching all the kids play and laugh. It’s a memory that everyone will remember. He was an absolute social butterfly and always made everyone feel welcomed. He was grateful for everything in life that he had and took great pride. He loved playing basket ball with his nephews and friends and when visiting in Mexico they played like true professionals! He took great pride in cutting his lawn in the summer, racking leaves in the fall and shoveling snow in the winter. He loved dressing in his polished cowboy boots & hat along with his perfectly ironed shirt, starched Levi’s jeans and don’t forget the leather belt with a nice belt buckle and 20 pumps of cologne. Julio loved his family very much and always prayed for them every day with his precious prayer books. The simplest things made him happy. He loved talking on the phone to family and reminiscing about old stories about growing up in Mexico until the day he passed. He spoke with great pride about his grandchildren and their accomplishments. He was a fighter and pushed himself until the end… his quote for himself and others… “Echale con ganas!” He will be deeply missed by all that he crossed paths with. A heart of gold stopped beating in his tired body but now beats in ours. Please keep our family in your prayers as we deal with this great loss.
