James "Dennis" Stevens

James Dennis Stevens; of Oxford; age 66; passed away on November 3, 2018.  Dennis is the beloved husband of Alethea, with whom he has spent the last 50 years.  He is also the loving father of Jamie Marie Stevens, Jennifer Lynn Stevens and Michael James (Monika) Stevens; and dear grandpa of Mikayla Stevens, Gunner “angel baby”, Payton Webb, Kendyl Stevens and Kennedy Stevens.  Dennis worked at General Motors Tech Center in Warren for the last 37 years as a design painter, having earned the highest seniority in his department.  When Dennis was younger he was an amazing baseball player and great at golf.  As he grew into his teenage years he loved cruising Woodward, which became a tradition for many years as a member of the Corvette Club and Motorcycle Clubs.  The passion that Dennis had for his cars carried over into so many things in his life.  He was a jack of all trades that could literally fix anything and everything.  And whether it was riding motorcycles or snowmobiles, building Chopper motorcycles from scratch, keeping a super tidy garage or taking care of his lawn, he just loved keeping busy.  But most of all he will be remembered by his family a being the ultimate jokester.  Dennis was always playing pranks on his wife, kids and grandkids, even up to a couple days before he passed.  He was the rock of the family and he worked so hard for his family to have a wonderful life.  Dennis was the best husband, father and papa ever.  A memorial service will be held on Thursday, November 15, 2018 at 12 noon with visitation from 11am until the time of service at Sparks-Griffin Funeral Home.
