James J. Flores, of Metamora; May 29, 2009; age 55; beloved husband of Hazel; dear father of Chantell (Adam) Hickman of Dryden, Kristina (Jason) Gitre of Metamora, Jim and Steven Flores of Metamora; loving Grandfather of David, Autumn, Alex, Maya, Hailie, Kaycee, Hannah, and Logan; dear son of Nora Miklia of Oxford, and the late John Flores; and brother of Susan (Dennis) Beach of Oxford, and Marc (Debbie) Flores of Oxford. Officer Flores was a police officer for the Village of Oxford for 35 years. He was a Marine Corps Veteran of Viet Nam, and a member of American Legion Post 108 in Oxford, and the Leonard Community Church Of The Brethren In Christ.The Flores family will receive friends on Tuesday from 3 to 5, and 7 to 9 pm at the Lake Orion Chapel, Sparks-Griffin Funeral Home (248-693-8336) On Wednesday the family will receive friends at the Leonard Community Church, 4391 Whitehead Rd. in Leonard from 2 to 4, and 6 to 9 pm. Funeral services Thursday 2:00 pm. from the Oxford Free Methodist Church. Memorials may be made to the Flores family, and memorial reflections may be made to www.sparksgriffin.com.
