James Simmons

September 2, 1927 — January 11, 2012

James Simmons; January 11, 2012; age 94; longtime resident of Waterford, where upon retirement Jim and his wife Irene moved up to Gaylord. Most recently the couple moved back to Waterford to be closer to their family. He is survived by his beloved wife Irene of 59 years; his loving daughter Debi (Bryan) Orser; dear grandson Adam Lyons; and several nieces and cousins. Jim was preceded in death by his son Stephan (Gayle) Lyons, a sister and a brother. Jim retired from General Motors in 1974 and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He loved to fish, play golf and play pool. Private family services will be held at a later date. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Pontiac Chapel of Sparks-Griffin Funeral Home where reflections may be shared with the family at www.sparksgriffin.com.
