James Edmund Souvie

James Edmund Souvie of Grosse Pointe Shores, MI, passed away August 29, 2019, at 38 years of age.  James is the beloved husband of Laurie Jean; the adoring father of Alyssa Winter Elise Souvie (daughter of Carrie Sims); dear son of Marianne Broughton; and brother of Chelsea Souvie.  James's passing was preceded by that of his father, Edmund Souvie; great aunt Maxine; and great uncle Brady Kelley.  James was full of life and lived life to the hilt.  He had many close friends whom he considered family.  His love for his wife and soulmate, "Nemy" was boundless and his daughter, Alyssa Winter, was the shining light in his life.  James adored animals and had many special pets over the years.  James loved to spend time cooking.  He greatly enjoyed history, comedy and playing video games.  He would light up a room anytime he entered and people were naturally drawn to him. James accomplished so much and excelled at any task he undertook.  He was an amazingly creative Sushi chef in addition to being an excellent cook.  James attended Kimball High School in Royal Oak, MI and completed his education and graduated from Bishop State in Mobile, AL with an advanced welding degree.  James was proud to be co-owner of Latex Nemesis with his wife, Laurie, where he helped to grow the company by organizing as well as improving online presentation and information.  He was a talented writer and was very creative in developing characters and costumes for the launching of Folklore Haunted House in Atlanta, GA during the 2010 and 2011 seasons.  The family will receive friends for visitation on Thursday, September 5, 2019 from 5-8 pm with Memory Sharing at 7 pm at Sparks-Griffin Funeral Home, Lake Orion.  Memorial donations may be made to Go Fund Me James Souvie
