Janet Mae Castro; better half of Juan Castro for 46 years passed away with the love of her life by her side on April 2, 2019 in Rochester. Beloved mother of Debra (George) Caverly, Robyn (David) Williams and Marc Castro. She will also be missed by her grandchildren, Kolt Caverly, Leasha (Sara) Caverly, Trae Bonds and Zach Castro; and her great grandchild Savannah.
Janet was born in her grandmother’s home on January 3, 1938. She was the oldest of five children born to the late Lee and Frieda Bailey. Her siblings Sally (John) Freeland, Joyce (the late Dale) Mehlberg, Doug (the late Diane) Bailey and David (the late Phylis) Bailey will cherish the memories they shared throughout their lives.
Janet formerly worked for Kresge’s, Showcase Cinemas and numerous other jobs, but her favorite job was wife, mother and grandmother. She was a support system for her family, attending all the events she could. She had the ability to talk to anyone and make them feel special. She was known for her big heart and giving spirit.
Janet was a life long Lake Orion resident. She was proud of graduating from Elizabeth Street School and all her grandchildren graduating from Lake Orion High School. She loved her town.
Janet’s visitation will be held at Sparks-Griffin Funeral Home, 111 E. Flint Street, Lake Orion on Sunday, April 7, 2019 from 2-6pm. There will be a visitation from 10 -11am at First Missionary Church located at 4832 Clintonville Road, Clarkston on Monday, April 8, 2019. Service will begin at 11am and a luncheon will follow.
