Jesus "Jesse" Pena; of Pontiac; June 8, 1955 - March 27, 2007; survived by his mother Julia Pena; sisters, Maria (Michael) McFann and Anna Pena; brothers, Nicholas (Maureen) Pena and Gilbert (Nathalie) Pena; preceded in death by his father Jerry Pena, sister Beatriz and brother Vincente. Jesse leaves to cherish his memory, special cousins Antonio, Rick and Linda Pena; the Tovars from Chicago; very best friends Alex and Pat Lemos; and many very close friends, especially the children who were his nieces and nephews. He was Tio to many and who knew Jesse as Jesse. Yes, Jesse was a fighter, but always for the right cause, as he thought it. His last fighting words were "Doc, you have to do something to stop the pain for the kids who have cancer." Never did he put himself first. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Azteca Boxing Club or Children's Hospital. Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, March 31, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. from St. Vincent DePaul Catholic Church with Father Sean Sylvester officiating. The family will receive friends at the Pontiac Chapel of Sparks-Griffin Funeral Home on Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. and on Friday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. with a Rosary at 7:30 p.m. Interment Mount Hope Cemetery.
