Lloyd "Jim" Landstrom; age 85; of Rochester Hills, Michigan; passed away on September 6, 2026. Jim is the beloved husband of the late Carol A. Landstrom; loving father of Mary Ann (Robert) LePage, Julia (Douglas) Parker-Bailey, and Raymond (Jennifer) Landstrom; dear brother of Nola (late Lawrence) Elwell, Frederick (Betty) Landstrom, the late Beverly (Charles) McKinney, Charles (Karen) Landstrom, and Linda Chambers; and adoring grandfather of Megan (Jessica) Uzarski, Wessly (Tiffany) Parker, Logan (Christina) LePage, Reis(Jordan) Bailey, Drew, and Katie Landstrom; and soon to be great-grandpa of baby Bailey.
Jim was born February 12, 1941, in Pontiac, Michigan, to his late parents, Lloyd and Grace Landstrom, the fourth of six children.
He married the love of his life, Carol Ann Landstrom, on May 26, 1961, after only four months of dating. They celebrated 58 years of marriage before her passing in September 2019. Together they raised three children: Mary Ann, Julia, and Raymond. They took many family vacations to Michigan's Upper Peninsula and also to Sunbright, Tennessee, where his beloved wife grew up.
Jim worked for General Motors as a foreman for 35 years before retiring in 1991. Before retiring from GM, he began working for Sparks-Griffin Funeral Home in 1976 as the landscaper for Mr. Glenn H. Griffin. He continued his career with the Griffin family, spanning four generations before retiring in 2025 after 49 wonderful years of service. Jim was someone a family could always count on in their time of need, and he truly enjoyed helping the countless families he served over the years. He cared deeply about the relationships that had developed through his many years and counted many of them friends.
Some of his other passions included tending to his classic 1950 green Chevy and his classic red 1958 Chevy Impala. He would take them to car shows, where he won numerous trophies over the years. Jim also loved cruising down Woodward during the Dream Cruise in either of his classic cars. In his later years, he also enjoyed going out to eat with every friend that asked him, and he always looked forward to his Friday morning breakfast at Pete’s Coney with his co-workers at the funeral home.
Jim truly was a one-of-a-kind man who would do anything and everything for those he loved and cared for. One thing he always made sure of, was to remind his loved ones to cherish those closest to you. His legacy and love will never be forgotten, and his memories will always be cherished.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, September 14, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Sparks-Griffin Funeral Home, Pontiac. The family will receive friends on Sunday, September 13, 2026, from 2:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Sparks-Griffin Funeral Home. He will be interred next to his wife, Carol, at Van Hoosen Jones Cemetery.
