Joey D. Vanmeter

Joey Dean VanMeter; of Lake Orion; age 66; passed away on July 29, 2021.  Joey is the dear brother of Janice (the late Douglas) Clark, Joan (the late Howard) McClerren and Jane VanMeter Richmond; loving brother in law of Bill Campbell, Peggy VanMeter and Pat VanMeter; and the loving uncle of many nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents Virgil and Gaynelle VanMeter; his siblings Johnny VanMeter, Judy Drinkwine, Jimmy VanMeter and Joyce Campbell.  Joey was a hardworking man all of his life.  He was devoted to his family and would always help them out in any way.  Whatever anyone needed he was there to lend a helping hand.  He will also be remembered as the protector in his family, keeping them from harm.  Joey was mechanically inclined and could fix just about anything.  He liked working on cars and watching the Indy 500 car races.  The family will receive friends for visitation on Wednesday, August 4, 2021 from 12-2 p.m. at Sparks-Griffin Funeral Home.
