John E. Buckley; age 68; of Pontiac, Michigan transitioned to glory on January 31, 2010 surrounded by his family. John is the loving father of John K. Buckley of Chicago, IL, Danny (Latosha) Lawrence, Donna Jefferson, John O. (Arica) Buckley, Brianna Buckley, Jala Buckley and Tyler Buckley, all of Pontiac, Michigan. John leaves to cherish his memory; sisters, Verlee Griffin of Pontiac, Augustine (Arthur) Hayes of Pontiac, Bobby Ruth (Curtis) McClendon-Neil of Portland, Oregon, Betty Kirksey of Pontiac, and Alice (Ernest) Coleman of Southfield; brothers, Leonard (Gladys) Johns of Kansas City, Missouri, Claude Johns of Chicago and Charles Johns of Chicago. He was preceded in death by his parents, Benjamin and Annie Buckley, seven sisters and two brothers. The joy of John's life was his grandchildren and he exemplified a genuine love for his family. He was blessed by a wealth of friends and associates that shared his life and by those that helped him along his journey. John was retired from General Motors Truck & Bus and Delphi after 34 dedicated years and travelled extensively. John was a nature lover and an avid photographer. Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 4, 2010 at the Pontiac Chapel of Sparks-Griffin Funeral Home from 4 to 8 p.m. Family Hour will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, February, 5, 2010 followed by a Celebration of Life at 11:00 a.m. at the Door of Faith Christian Church, 511 S. Sanford. Interment All Saints Cemetery.
