John T. &Quot;Tom&Quot; King

December 4, 1925 — September 18, 2010

John T. (Tom) King went to be with the Lord on Saturday, September 18th, 2010 peacefully in his home in Grayson, KY, surrounded by loved ones. He was born in Pikeville, KY on December 4th, 1925. John lived in Pontiac, MI for many years and retired from GM Truck & Bus. He is preceeded in death by his parents, Viola and Ferrell King, his beloved wife of almost 50 years, Barbara Maxine, his son Rick King, brothers Monroe, Ira, Leo, Frank, Kenneth and sister Ethel Stanley. Tom is survived by his best friend and loving wife of the last 9 years Gladys (Adams) King and 8 children, Larry (Pam) King, Frank (Cindy) King, Kim King, Willard (Brenda) King, Janice (Tim) Weber, Mickey (Denise) King, Lundy (Kim) King and Viola Williams. He also had 20 Grandchildren, 14 Great Grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, along with a host of dear friends that he loved very much. John served in the U.S. Navy during WWII and was a proud patriot that loved America. He was a very active member of New Beginnings Assembly of God in Grayson, KY. He was a child of God that touched many lives and will be missed by everyone. Funeral service Friday 11am at the Lake Orion Chapel of the Sparks-Griffin Funeral Home. Family will receive friends Thursday 4-9 pm. Memorial Contributions may be made in Tom's memory to New Beginnings Assembly of God in Grayson, KY or to Community Hospice in Ashland.
