John Arnold Sutton

John Arnold Sutton; age 63; born Nov. 18, 1947; departed May 8, 2011. Survived by his wife Stephanie (Alspaugh) Sutton; son of Betty and the late Woodrow Sutton of AZ; brother of Robert (Nancy) Sutton, Andrea Sutton, and the late Judith Ann (Sutton) Van Luven; father of Charles (Melissa) Sutton, John (Carri) Sutton, Amanda (Ponciano) Machado; and grandfather of Shanna, Corbin, Chandler, Jourdon, Connor, Dominic, Brenden and Caden. John is also survived by many nieces and nephews. John proudly served his country in the USMC; a combat veteran of the Vietnam War. He worked for GM, retiring after 34 years and was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. John loved playing softball, golfing and was an avid bowler. All that knew John loved him. He was a kind gentle hearted man and will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 13, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at the Pontiac Chapel of Sparks-Griffin Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 5 to 9 p.m. Interment with Military Honors at Great Lakes National Cemetery. Reflections may be shared with the family at www.sparksgriffin.com.
