Joseph “Joe” Patrick Sabo, 49, of Yucca Valley, California (CA) passed away peacefully on July 12, 2023, at Desert Regional Hospital in Palm Springs CA, following an unexpected stroke. He had been on the transplant list waiting for a kidney. Joe gave in death as he did in life by giving the gift of life through organ/tissue donation. He was born to Michael and Jestine Sabo in Livonia Michigan (MI) on November 20, 1973, the second of four children.
Pursuing his interest in law enforcement, he volunteered with the Lake Orion Police Department as a reserve officer in past years, while studying criminal justice at Wayne State. He continued his studies and worked as a Manager of Big Five Sporting Goods in Coachella Valley, CA. He was an active second amendment activist, collecting and learning about firearms, in which he became a certified firearms instructor.
Joe was preceded in death by his mother; Jestine E.M. “Sabo” Osborn and his grandmother; Estelle E. Maas. He is survived by his father Michael Casper Sabo; his brother Kevin Michael Sabo, and his two sisters; Coleen Julia Sabo and Patricia Jestine Sabo.
Even though a stroke took him away from this world, his loving heart left a beacon of light for all he knew. A funeral service will be held in his honor on November 3, 2023, 11am at St. Joseph’s Church in Lake Orion, MI.
