PALERMO, JOYCE E. May 30, 2010 Age 87 of Lake Orion passed away peacefully with her family and friends at her side. Joyce was born October 26, 1922 in Sacramento, California. She was preceded in death by her husband Jim of 56 years, son; Philip Van Dusen, Sisters; Norma Connon (aka)Welch and Billie Youngquist (aka) Kolodzieczak. Joyce married Jim and moved from California to New York with her blended family; Bob Van Dusen, Phil Van Dusen, JoyLynne Van Dusen and Michael Palermo. Her final move to Lake Orion some 60 years ago brought her cherished friends, treasured memories, being a Teacher Aide in Lake Orion and Rochester Schools, Founding Member and Commander of the Lake Orion Maccabees Unit 281. Traditional hugs with 10 loving and wonderful grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Survived by daughters-in-laws; Willie Van Dusen and Jan Palermo. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces, nephews and great-great nieces, nephews. Funeral Service 11 AM Monday, June 7, 2010 from the Lake Orion Chapel of the Sparks-Griffin Funeral Home. Family will receive friends Sunday, June 6, 2010 from 4-8 pm. Interment Eastlawn Cemetery.
