On November 19th, June Elaine Snyder (French) took her final breath, surrounded by her loved ones. She was welcomed into Heaven that night. The sun rose and the world welcomed June on October 25th, 1939, a day the world became a little warmer and brighter. A loving and caring Christian woman from the age of eight who would talk and help anyone who asked. She lived her life caring for the many.
John 15:12 “My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you.”
Isaiah 25:4 : “For you have been a stronghold to the poor, a stronghold to the needy in his distress, a shelter from the storm and a shade from the heat; for the breath of the ruthless is like a storm against a wall.”
June was born in Pontiac MI to Edward and Freda French. She had an older sister, Sharon, and a younger brother, Kenan. She and Sharon were very close with their cousins and family through her younger years. June loved dancing, ice skating, picnics with cousins and family. She also loved her Irish heritage, and would spend hours amusing her children with her Irish accents. She liked science fiction, with the “Jurassic Park” and “Star Trek” franchises among her favorites.
June enjoyed cooking and recipes. She was also an avid bargain hunter, spending her afternoons at garage sales and swap meets. She was an accomplished haggler. She also enjoyed fellowship, many times she would be one of the last people to leave church. She could talk for hours with anyone.
June served in the US Navy as clericalist giving directions to US Naval ships near Cuba. She would eventually be transferred to San Diego CA.
In San Diego CA during the 1960s, She met David Snyder. David and her married in Arizona, then moved to New York. June and David would move from New York to Pontiac and eventually settle in Lake Orion. June had six children: Anna Christine, Rachel Beth, Deborah Lee, Daniel David, Mary Grace, and Elizabeth Esther.
Through those years of having six children. June as a care giver grew and blossomed into who she eventually became. She not only cared for her own children, but other children and adults in need as well. She led her life with an open heart and open arms to help those broken in Society. June would help anyone in need at any hour and day . Truly a Christian walking in Faith.
June in her later years continued the endless cup of caring in her grandchildren Nate, Aaron, Sasha, Sophia, Isabella.
June’s life was full of caring, giving, warming, smiling, kissing, hugging and fully serving thru her love of family and the broken of Society. The earth is a little less full with her passing.
