Kevin Romero

Kevin Romero, age 25, unexpectedly passed away on June 22, 2025, at 7:53 am in Traverse City, Michigan, while on a trip with family. Kevin was born in Detroit, Michigan, on April 25th, 2000. He leaves behind to cherish in his memory his fiancée, Susie Perez (Together for nine years); his 9-month-old son, Elias Alexander Romero; his parents, Elias and Adriana Romero; his sisters, Ashley, Melanie, and Aleah Romero; and his two dogs, Milo and Pluto. As well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Kevin was preceded in death by his grandmother, Eladia Martinez Maldonado, and grandfather, Andres Valdovinos Lemus.

Kevin graduated from Waterford Mott High School in 2018. He has been a hard-working man since the age of 15, when he got his first job as a busboy at Mexico Lindo. Kevin was part of Laborers Union 1076 out of Pontiac, Michigan.

Kevin loved his family and friends. He was always someone you could talk to because he always knew the right words to say. And he was always one call away if you needed him. Kevin’s smile was contagious; it could light up an entire city, and his laugh was remarkable. He enjoyed fishing, playing on his Xbox, and most of all spending time with his family and friends.

We will deeply miss and cherish our memories with Kevin.

The family will receive friends and family for visitation on Monday, June 30, 2025, from 4:00-8:00 p.m., with rosary prayers to be said at 7:00 p.m. at Sparks-Griffin Funeral Home, Pontiac Chapel. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, at 2:00 pm with a visitaiton starting at 1:00 p.m. at Mt. Zion Church, 4900 Maybee Rd., Clarkston, MI 48348. The official funeral mass will be held on July 2, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Damien off Molokai Parish - St. Michael the Archangel Church, 120 Lewis St., Pontiac, MI. Following mass, a burial will be held at All Saints Cemetery in Waterford, MI.
