Larry Edward Purvis

Larry Edward Purvis; of Oxford; age 88; passed away on Wednesday, July 22, 2026. He was born December 17, 1937 in Pontiac, Michigan to the late James and Juanita Purvis. He married his high school sweetheart Linda in December 1955. Larry was preceded in death by his wife Linda in November 2024.

He is survived by his children Nikki (Marc)Spencer-Trafton of Metamora, Penny (Craig) Bancroft of Plymouth and Tari (Mark) Eaglen of Lake Orion, his grandchildren Katie Spencer, Erica Eaglen, Courtney Eaglen and Zachary (Brianna) Eaglen and 2 great grandchildren Chayse Anthony and Emmie Eaglen.

Larry graduated from Pontiac Central and later retired from General Motors after 37 years.

He enjoyed golfing, fishing and hunting and loved to travel.

Larry enjoyed attending the sporting events that his grandchildren and great grandchildren participated in. If there was a game, he was there in the stands rain or shine cheering on his family.

Larry’s funeral services will be entrusted to Sparks-Griffin Funeral Home. Visitation will be at Sparks Griffin Funeral home at 111 E Flint St, Lake Orion on Tuesday, August 11, 2026 from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 pm. A memorial service will be held at 6:00 pm.
