On Sunday, June 6, 2021, Leah Renee Raspberry also know as Dottie by close friends and her family, of Chesterfield, MI (formerly of Pontiac); peacefully entered heaven to be with the Lord at the age of 67.
Leah was born July 29,1953, in Pontiac, MI to Mamie and Charles Raspberry. Leah graduated from Pontiac Central high school and attended Oakland University majoring in engineering. Leah began her engineering career with Ford Tractor Operations and was able to share her drafting skills with different companies over the years. She even was the Draftsperson for the City of Pontiac, where she designed the city of Pontiac’s logo in the Mid 70s. Later in life she took those artistic skills and started baking and decorating cakes for her friends and family, spreading her love through every bite. Leah was a very talented crocheter of many beautiful blankets that will forever keep us warm. In Leah’s latter years, she became the assistant volunteer coordinator for the famous Arts Beats and Eats, and the Motown Winter Blast.
Leah was a loving mother to and survived by Bryan (Kim) Raspberry and Jessica (Kito) deSouza. Devoted Nana to Bryan Raspberry Jr., Brendan Raspberry, Sean Raspberry, Kaden Raspberry, Jalen Moss. Great Grand Nana to Lorelie Raspberry. She was the oldest of her siblings who she loved dearly, Gregory (Linda) Raspberry, Kimberly Holman, David (Shanna) Monroe, and step brother Dwayne Bird. She was a loving aunt to her many nieces and nephews and a great friend to many.
Leah was preceded in death by her mother Mamie (Crowder) Monroe , Father Charles Raspberry, Step Father Edward Monroe, Second oldest sister Pamela Hirsch.
Leah will truly be missed especially all of her “Dottie Jokes”.
