Mrs. Ross is survived by her daughter Jackie (Phillip) Kersey of Lebanon, Indiana; two grandsons, Scott (Rachel) Sand of Indianapolis, Indiana and Trent Sand of Lebanon, Indiana; two step granddaughters, Barbara Ann Kersey of Phoenix and Jennifer (Ryan) Kersey Kelly of Nashville; two great grandchildren, John Sand and Nathan Sand; and four step great grandchildren, Zoe Zepeda, Hannah Kelly, Isabel Kelly and Zhayne Kelly. She was preceded in death by her daughter Susan Marie Ross and a sister M. Marie Yeager. Mrs. Ross was born in Pontiac, Michigan on April 13, 1921, the daughter of the late James Ernest and Marion Fanny (Elder) Mahar. She was a resident of Pontiac until she moved to Lebanon, Indiana in 2001. &nbs p; Mrs. Ross was a graduate of Pontiac Central High School in 1939 and attended East Lansing University. She married John "Jack" Ross in Ft. Bragg, North Carolina on August 3, 1943. Mr. Ross died in August 1996. She was a substitute teacher in Waterford Township for a number of years until she retired in 1997. She served for twenty years as president of the Waterford School Board. Mrs. Ross enjoyed her family, reading, crocheting, need lepoint, golfing, bowling, and traveling. She was a member of the First Presbyteria Church in Pontiac and the National Education Association. She volunteered in various hospitals in the Pontiac area as well as in the pharmacy at the Pontiac State Hospital. Mrs. Ross was also a member of the Lady Elks, B.P.O.E. Lodge No. 810 in Pontiac. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 12, 2008, at 1:00 p.m. at the Pontiac Chapel of Sparks-Griffin Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service. Interment will follow at White Chapel Cemetery.
