Maria Isabel Gonzales

Maria Isabel Gonzales of Pontiac, Mi, Age 67 passed away on February 23, 2022. Maria is the daughter to the late Salome and Irma Gonzales. She was a devoted Mother to her eight children: Santana (late Janice), Sonora (Tony), Sonya (Mykhailo), Sonny (Christina), Santiago, Santos, Santina and Selina. A loving Grandmother to 25 Grandkids and a proud Great-Grandmother to Sophia, Asher and Everly. She was the best sister to Rachel (Luis), Salome, Arturo, late David, and Ricardo. She welcomed her late best friends Jean, Norma, and Keith into her extended family. Maria had a green thumb and couldn't get enough of her plants and flowers. She was a dedicated mother who has always had a tremendous love and compassion for children. She was a childcare provider to many children in the neighborhood and family friends. Most of the kids referred to her as "Grandma". Her family was her passion! She looked forward to cruising in Rick's car during the Woodward Dream Cruise. She enjoyed trips to the casino with her mom, brothers, and favorite sister. They would always eat a burger afterwards. Family time was also spent playing Mexican bingo at Ricky's house. The holidays always began by making homemade tamales while Mexican music played in the background. At home with her children on the weekends, while cleaning she would blast Teena Marie, Sade, Rick James, and The Commodores. As well as Smokey Robinson and The Gap Band. R&B songs were her jams. Music kept her spirits up! Mom was famous in our family for her delicious rice and mole, it was the best! "Wherever a Beautiful soul has been there is a trail of Beautiful memories". MARIA ISABEL GONZALES, YOU WILL BE DEEPLY MISSED!

Family will welcome friends at Sparks-Griffin funeral home Friday, March 4th from 2-4 and 6-8pm.

Funeral services will be held March 5th at 10am at St. Vincent Catholic Church.
