Maria Antonia Tovar

Maria (Toñia) Antonia Tovar was born on September 14 ^th , 1931 to Encarnacion Gonzales and Isabel Rodriguez in Laredo, TX. She passed away on April 7 ^th , 2022.

She was proceeded in death by her beloved husband, Timoteo Frutoso Tovar and daughter-in-law, Sue Tovar.

Beloved mother of Aldolfo (Marian), Leticia (Ricardo), Raul (Patty), Luis (Jill), Timoteo (Mitzie), Roberto (Oneida), and Alejandro (Amanda). Toñia was very much loved by her numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and a great-great grandchild.

She enjoyed her time cooking, gardening and spending time with her family and friends. Her loving and open spirit made it easy to create great friendships. She worked at the Oakland Press, was a long-time nanny, and was an amazing volunteer for many great organizations. She will be dearly missed by everyone that knew her.

On Monday, April 11 ^th , 2022 at Sparks-Griffin Funeral Home, Pontiac the family will receive friends from 2 pm – 4 pm and 6 pm – 8 pm.

Tuesday, April 12 ^th , 10 am mass at St. Damien of Molokai Parish -  St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Pontiac. She will be interred at Christian Memorial in Rochester Hills, Michigan.
