Maria E. Villarreal

In loving memory of our mother Maria Elvia Villarreal; at the age of 85; went to be with our Lord on Friday, September 23, 2016. Maria was born November 22, 1930 in Piedras, Negras, Coah, Mexico, she then married our father, the love of her life Melchor R. Villarreal on October 26, 1949 and they were married 39 wonderful years until his passing in December of 1988.

After raising her 9 children, she then became employed with General Motors in Pontiac, where she retired from after many years of service, While in the Pontiac area, she attended church at St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church. Maria enjoyed traveling, going to her Senior Citizen Club, watching her novelas, and listening to her favorite music and playing Bingo.

Maria’s spirit has taken the next journey, but leaves behind many precious memories for her 9 loving children. María (Peter) Lopez, Rosa (Roberto) Lemos, Rudy (Janis) Villarreal, Martha Lopez, Carlos ( Maria) Villarreal,  Gloria ( Juan) Salazar, Irma Christine (Manuel) Matienzo, Anna (David) Estrada. Grandmother of 24 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great- grandchildren. Maria was preceded in death by her loving husband Melchor R. Villarreal , daughter Maria Guadalupe and Brother Ricardo Bautista.

Our mom lived a full and happy life and will be greatly missed, but remembered with love by those whose lives she touched.

Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, October 5, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Damien Molokai Parish, St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church of Pontiac. Family will receive friends on Tuesday 2 – 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. with Rosary service at 7 p.m.  at Sparks - Griffin Funeral Home, Pontiac. Interment Christian Memorial Cemetery. www.sparksgriffin.com
