Maria Delrosario Ybarra

August 29, 1945 — July 31, 2020

Maria Delrosario Ybarra; 74 of Pontiac, MI, passed away on July 30, 2020 at her home after a long illness.

Maria was born on August 29, 1945 in McAllen, Texas to the late Marcelo and Isabel Hernandez. She is survived by her loving spouse, Jose Flores Ybarra Sr.; her two sons, Michael Ybarra (Yvonne) and Jose Ybarra Jr. (Victoria); her grandchildren, Gusdiana, Michael, Clarisa, Sergio, Jose III and Lenaiah; her great-grandchildren, Analiea, Reynaldo III, Alano, Royce, Romeo and  Xiomara; her siblings, Olivia Reyes (Joe), Lydia Ovalle (Goyo) and Marcelo Hernandez Jr. (Rosie); and numerous nieces and nephews. Maria is preceded by her brother, Eloy Hernandez; and her special cousin, Linda Garza.

In her life, Maria worked at Sears for 10 years, before she became a stay at-home mom/wife. One of her favorite hobbies was to attend bingo nights. Maria enjoyed going to Tejano dances to watch her husband perform and dance the night away with family and friends. When she felt lucky, she traveled to one of her favorite places, Las Vegas, NV. Maria also enjoyed traveling to visit family and friends, such places as Texas and California.  Maria fought such an ugly disease (Dementia) till the end and will be missed by many.

A viewing for Maria will be held Wednesday August 5, 2020 from 6-7 PM at Sparks Griffin Funeral Home, 46 Williams Street, Pontiac, MI. Due to Covid-19 there are restrictions, masks are required and only 10 people at a time in the building (so there will be a limited time to pay your respects). Immediately following the showing, there will be a Rosary for Maria at the house of Joey Ybarra Jr., 2823 Riverside Drive, Waterford, MI. We will start the Rosary at 8 PM. The funeral service is Thursday August 6, 2020 at the St. Damien Of Molokai  Church, 46408 Woodward Ave, Pontiac, MI at 10 AM. Followed by burial at Mount Hope Cemetery.
