Marilyn Delila O'Brien

Marilyn Delila O’Brien (Lystila); of Pontiac, Michigan; age 78; passed away after a long illness at her home surrounded by her loved ones on December 30, 2022.

Marilyn was born on August 14, 1944, in Hancock, Michigan.  She married Rupert William O’Brien Jr. of Houghton, Michigan on October 1, 1960 and together they shared 62 years of marriage.  She is survived by her 4 children, Debra Lyn Camacho-Padron (Andres), Duane Rupert O’Brien Sr. (Michelle), Jon Roy O’Brien (Karen) and Dawn Marie Alvarado (Stephen); her 12 loving grandchildren; and 15 dear great grandchildren.

Marilyn attended Oakland Community College and taught at Title IV in Pontiac.  She enjoyed travelling in their RV, their visits to the San Francisco Bay area, dancing and spending quality time with her family.

Marilyn is preceded in death by her parents Roy and Lila Lystila of South Range, Michigan and her grandson Roger Lee O’Brien.  She is also survived by her siblings, Marlin Lystila (Christine), William Lystila (Sherri) and Christine DeForge (Joseph).

She will be dearly missed and will always be in our hearts.

There will be a Celebration of Life scheduled for her in the future.
