Marilyn J. Simmons

Marilyn J. Simmons; of Waterford; passed away peacefully on January 16, 2023. She was born and raised in Grand Rapids, Michigan and graduated from Cooley High School in Detroit.

Marilyn was the beloved wife of 69 years to late Bud Simmons; and the sister of the late Barbara (Mahncke) Driver.  She was the dear mother of Karen (the late, Ronald) Reynolds, Teri (Richard) Hockstad; and the loving grandmother of Shoshana Reynolds, Sierra Reynolds, Christopher Richardson and Jessica Richardson.

For many years, she was a self-employed bookkeeper and enjoyed working with numbers.  Her winters were spent alongside her husband in Ft. Myers, Florida and loved short visits from her children and grandchildren. She loved walks on the beach and finding those rare shells along her way.  She was kind and generous and will be deeply missed by her family.

Her family will receive friends at Sparks-Griffin Funeral Home, Lake Orion on January 26, 2023, between 4pm-7pm. A funeral service will be held at Christian Memorial Cemetery on January 27, 2023, at 12 Noon.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Cardinal Hospice of Oxford, Michigan
