Mark W. Sawyer

August 2, 1967 — January 23, 2009

Mark W. Sawyer of Oscoda; passed away Friday, January 23, 2009 at Tawas St. Joseph Hospital at the age of 41. He was born August 25, 1967 in Pontiac. Mark is survived by his son Daniel Shepard of Oscoda; his parents Earl and Elizabeth (Powell) Sawyer of Oscoda; brother Daniel (fiancée Tina Melton) Sawyer of Lake Orion; sister Cynthia (Eric) Richard of Lake Orion; nieces, Sara Jayne Richard, Allie Elizabeth Richard and Marissa Richard; and many other nieces, uncles, aunts and cousins. He was preceded in death by his brother Gary Sawyer and grandparents Alma Powell, Walter Powell and Gerald Sawyer. Mark worked at Walmarts in Tawas City. Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 30, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. from the Lake Orion Chapel of Sparks-Griffin Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Interment East Lawn Cemetery. Reflections may be shared at www.sparksgriffin.com.
