Martha Fisher

Martha Nell Fisher; of Lake Orion; passed peacefully on August 16, 2014, at the age of 81. Born on August 14, 1933, in Golconda, Illinois, Martha moved to Pontiac as a small child when her father found employment as an automotive transport hauler. Martha graduated from Pontiac Central High School and worked for a local furniture company before dedicating more than ten years of service to the children of Lake Orion Community Schools as a teacher's aide. Later, she worked as a finance and service manager for Parkhurst Homes in Oxford. However, more than anything, Martha truly devoted her life to her family. Married to William L. Fisher Sr. for 61 years, her unwavering commitment was rooted in her deep faith and love. The caring mom of William (Linda) Fisher, Brenda (Bill) Gibson, and Lisa (Darren) Macco; giving grandmother of seven, Jeremy, Kristen, Bill, Jordan, Lindsey, Jason and Stacy; and proud great-grandmother of ten. Martha always had the right words, gentle reminders and warmest hugs. A talented mind, kind soul and generous friend will be greatly missed, but her gifts will carry on through all of those that she has touched. Rest peacefully and know that our world is a better place because of your love. Family and friends will gather together for visitation and remembrance at SPARKS-GRIFFIN FUNERAL HOME, Lake Orion on Wednesday, August 20, 2014, starting at 10 a.m. Funeral Services will be conducted at noon of the same day, immediately followed with a burial service at Square Lake Cemetery.
