Martha "Marcy" Emily Jean Petrick

Martha “Marcy” Emily Jean Petrick, a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on September 1, 2026, at Lake Orion Nursing and Rehabilitation Center following a brief illness. She was 79 years old.

Marcy was born on June 21, 1947, in Minot, North Dakota, to John and Eunice (Molde) Heramb. She spent her later years living in Owendale, Michigan, and was a member of First United Methodist Church in Pigeon, Michigan.

Marcy was the beloved wife of Larry Petrick, with whom she shared 36 years of marriage. She was a loving mother to Delrae Fremstad of Germany, Randy (Joy McClellan) Fremstad of Lake Orion, John (Linda) Fremstad of Oxford, and Cindy (Russell) Hoffman of Oxford.

She was a devoted grandmother to Ian (Erin) Rogan, Evan (Brittany) Rogan, Chase (Victoria) Fremstad, Olivia Hoffman, Nichole Healy, Clifford (Samantha) Healy, Ariel (Bobby) Stauffer, and Bradley McClellan. She was also a proud great-grandmother to 16 great-grandchildren, who brought her great joy.

Marcy enjoyed the simple pleasures in life. She loved reading and watching Jeopardy! and was always up to taking a drive. She especially enjoyed traveling, including return trips to Max, North Dakota, where she loved going “back home.” She and Larry looked forward to their annual trips north to Sault Ste. Marie, where they would spend time watching the freighters pass by. She also cherished girls’ weekends up north with her girlfriends and, most of all, treasured the time she spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Marcy will be remembered for the love she had for her family, the memories she created with those closest to her, and the many simple moments that made life special.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Eunice Heramb.

Per Marcy’s wishes, cremation has taken place and no formal services will be held. A private family gathering will take place at a later date.

The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to the staff at Lake Orion Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for the compassionate care, kindness, and comfort they provided to Marcy during the final months of her life.

The family would also like to express their deepest gratitude to their dear neighbors, Jeff and Heidi Faist, for their incredible kindness and support over the years. Their willingness to care for Marcy and Larry, provide transportation to and from appointments, and lend a helping hand whenever needed meant more than words can express. Their friendship and generosity will always hold a special place in the hearts of Marcy’s family.
