Mary Louise Smith

Mary Louise Smith (Jones), age 72, of Brown City, Michigan passed away with family by her side on Sunday, October 24, 2021 after a 9 year battle with Brain Cancer.  Mary was born December 18, 1948 in Pontiac, Michigan to Norman and Mildred Jones.  She graduated from Lake Orion High School with the class of 1967.  She married Larry Smith on September 7, 1968 in Lake Orion, Michigan.  Mary worked for Arbor Drugs/CVS Pharmacy and Walgreens Pharmacy for many years before retiring in 2012.  Mary enjoyed crocheting attending church, spending time with her family, bird watching and taking pictures.  Mary was known for sharing childhood stories and memories with great detail.  She is survived by her son Christopher (Regina) Smith and her daughter Jennifer (Lee) Clark; five grandchildren, Haley, Kayla, Christopher Jr., Joel and Eric; sisters Deborah (Brian) Bowman and Norma (Ken) Stuemke; brothers David (Jan) Jones, Eddie Jones and several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.  Mary was preceded in death by her husband Larry, son Larry Jr., parents Norman and Mildred Jones, siblings Earl Jones, Irene Jones, Lois Squire and Ruthann Powell.  The family with receive visitors from 3-7pm on Friday, October 29, 2021 at Sparks-Griffin Funeral Home, Lake Orion.  A Funeral Service will be held at 11am on Saturday, October 30, 2021 at Lake Orion Church of God located at 760 West Clarkston Rd., Lake Orion, MI 48362.  Pastor William Curnell will be officiating.  Those desiring to make a memorial contribution in Mary's memory may direct them to Sanilac Medical Care Facility in Sandusky, MI or the United Hospice Service of Marlette Regional Hospital.
