Mary "Opie" Moore

Mary Opal "Opie" Moore; died peacefully February 2, 2015, the day after her 85th birthday, and entered into the presence of Jesus Christ, her Savior. She was born in London, Kentucky, the ninth child of Frank and Sophie (Bundy) Patton. She moved to Michigan and met her husband of 52 years, the late Donald Moore. She raised her family while working as a homemaker, waitress and medical assistant. Opie had a loving generous heart and a great sense of humor. We will always remember her laughter. She loved history, reading, genealogy, and most enjoyed time with her family, particularly with her beloved grandchildren and great grandchildren. We will miss sharing her gifts of wisdom, love and laughter. Opie was the best mom ever to Steve (Wrae) Moore, D. Alan Moore (d.1968), Robin Moore, Donna Zaner, Denise (Matt) Moses, and Tracey (Andy) Burns; greatest grandma to Alan (Beth), Amanda (Aaron), Ryan (Janet), Matthew, Brandon (Amanda), Marilyn, Joseph, Samuel, Justin, Jordan, Aaron (Andrea), Shannon, Nathan and to ten great grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, February 7, 2015 at 11am at SPARKS-GRIFFIN FUNERAL HOME, Lake Orion. The family will receive friends on Friday from 3-8pm.
