Mary Julia Pena

Mary Julia (Julie) Pena; age 79; of Ashland, Virginia (formerly of Pontiac, MI.), passed away on April 26, 2012. Survived by children; Maria Elena (Michael) McFann, Ashland, VA, Nicholas (Maureen) Pena, Pontiac, MI, Gilberto(Nathalie) Pena, Ashland, VA, Anna Renee Horvath, Northville, Mi.; Eleven grandchildren, sister Madeline Tovar; sisters-i n-law; Roberta Tovar, Tomasina Pena, Josephine Alvarado, Cora (Jack) Mendoza, and many nieces, nephews and the Allen Family; also many special friends too numerous to mention. Mary was preceded in death by parents Sotero Tovar and Beatriz Delgado; brothers Fransico Tovar and Nicholas Tovar; Ex-husband Genaro Pena and children; Jesus Pena, Beatriz Pena, and Vicente Pena. Julie was someone who loved to be of help to anyone who needed it. A person of faith, she truly believed in caring for and about others. Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, May 4, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Damien of Molokai Parish, St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Thursday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m., with Rosary at 7 p.m.at the Pontiac Chapel of Sparks-Griffin Funeral Home.
