Melinda Gail Beaudry

Melinda Gail Beaudry; of Oxford; age 83; passed away on May 17, 2022.  Melinda is the beloved wife of Richard Edmond Beaudry; loving mother of Susan (Mark) Konsdorf; loving grandmother of Zachary (Leanne) Willard and Jessica (Brian) LaPine; great grandmother of Bentley, Mason, Nixon and Quinn; dear sister of Gary and Douglas Hedges; cherished aunt of Kim, Danae, Douglas Jr., Mark and Heidi.  Melinda was preceded in death by her parents Ronald and Hazel Hedges, her daughters Maureen Morand and Kathleen Pendray-Griffin.  Melinda was a very accomplished woman.  She graduated from Eastern High School in Detroit, received an Associates Nursing degree from Delta College, graduated from Michigan State University with a BSN Bachelor's degree and graduated from Wayne State University with a MSN Master's degree.  She was a professor who taught nursing at Delta College, Oakland University and Wayne County Community College. She got her private pilot's license and was a Captain in the Army Reserves moving up the ranks promotable to Major and was honorably discharged in 1998 from the United States Army.  Melinda also volunteered with the Young Eagles, a program through the Experimental Aircraft Association that exposed young children to aviation and with Challenge Air, a program for disabled youth.  She enjoyed flying, golfing and knitting in her spare time.  Melinda was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother who contributed a lot to the world and she will be deeply missed by everyone who knew her.  A funeral service will be held on Friday, May 20, 2022 at 1pm at Sparks-Griffin Funeral Home, Lake Orion.  The family will welcome friends for a visitation from 11am until the time of service.
