Melvin Gene Matthews

Melvin Matthews; departed this life at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital on Monday July 6, 2015. Melvin was born in Natchez, Mississippi on December 7, 1950 to Elmo and Annie Lee Matthews. Attended Pontiac School District, Served in the United States Marine, a Pontiac Police officer, and retired from General Motors. Melvin was survived by wife Janice, and three daughters Caprice Coe, Nicole Matthews and Stephanie Matthews, one brother Redd Williams; affectionately known as "Binky" to his six grandchildren Marreona,Marlon,Xavion,Michael,Mariah and Nahla. Malvin, was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Marlon Coe. Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, July 14, 2015 at 11a.m. at the Pontiac Chapel of Sparks-Griffin Funeral Home (46 William St Pontiac).The family will receive friend from 10 a.m. until time of service.
