Turner, Merdis V.; of Pontiac; age 84; died Jan. 13 2012; loving mother of Jesse (Sandra) and the late Milford Hillie Jr. (Harriet); step-mother of Gwen Mullen; grandmother of twelve, great grandmother of twenty and great-great grandmother of four; two sisters Doretha Davis and Bertha Wells; and one brother in law Willie McClain. She will also be missed by a host of relatives and friends. Funeral service Friday Jan. 20, 2012, 12:30 p.m. at Monument of Faith M.B. Church. Visitation Thursday at Pontiac Chapel Sparks-Griffin Funeral Home from 4 to 8 p.m. Interment at Perry Mount Park Cemetery. www.sparksgriffin.com.Merdis was employed by General Hospital for 27 years. After semi-retirement, she enjoyed knitting, ceramics, macrame and traveling. She was a fun loving person.
