Fortney, Mildred Irene Smith; age 84, a resident of Bloomfield Hills MI, passed away on Tuesday, June 12, 2007 at Maury Regional Hospital, Columbia,TN.. Mrs. Fortney was born in Askov, Minnesota and was the daughter of the late Bert and Laura Juhl Smith and the wife of Hilman A. Fortney. She was a bookkeeper for Consumers Power and retired credit manager for J.C.Penney. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Mrs. Fortney was a member of Cross of Christ Lutheran Church in Bloomfield Hills and sang in the church choir. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, Wayne A. (Henrietta) Fortney, Lynn A. (Richard) Robb, Lee James Fortney and Deborah (Pete) Betanio. grandchildren Angela (Michael) Ross, Tonya Boettge, Cassie (Tom) Blascyk, Amber (Josh) Foote and Jeremy (Betty) Betanio. great-grandchildren, Madeline Ross, Olivia Ross, Nathan Boettge, Ryan Boettge, Emma Blascyk and Carson Betanio. Funeral service will be held Monday, June 18 at 1:00 p.m. from The Pontiac Chapel of Sparks-Griffin Funeral Home. Family will receive friends on Sunday, June 17 from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Interment White Chapel Cemetery.
