Monserrate Ortiz

Monserrate Ortiz, of Pontiac, Michigan, passed away on January 21, 2026. Born on December 7, 1950 in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico to the late, Monserrate Perez and Daniel Ortiz. She is survived by her three daughters, Nina Lissette Walker, Melissa Evette Walker, and Nerissa Karina Nogueras; 11 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; 11 siblings; nieces & god-daughter's Nikki Calzado and Gabriella Pietrygaand; newphew & god-son, Emmanuel Bahena; and her ex-husband, Edgar Luis Walker. “There are many words that can be written to describe Monsie, our dear mother, sister, tia and friend, but I have just one to some up her life and legacy - SPECIAL!" - Carlos Quinones

The family will receive friends for visitation on Friday, January 30, 2026 from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. at the First Spanish-American Baptist Church. Funeral service will be held on Friday, January 30, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. at First Spanish-American Baptist Church, 1533 Giddings Road, Pontiac, Michigan 48340.
