Nesbitt David Hagewood “Dave” passed away on August 23, 2020 from Stage 4 Lymphoma. He was born in Southside, Tennessee to Henry and Inez Hagewood on December 27, 1947. Dave graduated from Montgomery Central High School in 1965. He was a veteran who served in the Air Force, stationed in Germany.
Dave is survived by his wife of 49 years, Bonnie (Kempf) Hagewood, daughter Jennifer (Hagewood) Mitchell and her husband Pete; son Nicholas Hagewood and wife Michelle; sister Becky (Hagewood) Shepherd; and grandchildren Noah, Olivia, and Benjamin Hagewood.
Dave was an avid fan of all things sports especially college football and the University of Tennessee. He unconditionally loved and supported his family through all endeavors and would stop any stranger at a moment's notice to brag about his grandkids. He and his wife, Bonnie, enjoyed the last few years of retirement traveling when they could and stopping at any Cracker Barrel in sight.
The family will receive friends on Monday, August 31, 2020 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Sparks-Griffin Funeral Home, Lake Orion. Social distancing is suggested, masks are required for those attending, and groups of 10 will be permitted at a time. Private services and burial with military honors will be held on Tuesday, September 1, 2020 at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly.
On Tuesday, September 1, 2020 at 12:30 pm family and friends are all invited to home of Nick and Michelle for a luncheon to celebrate Dave's life.
Memorials may be given to the First Presbyterian Church of Tecumseh .
