Noel Nieves Jr.

Noel Nieves Jr.; age 60; of Pontiac, MI; passed away on April 2023.

Noel was born on December 4, 1962, at St. Joseph Mercy Oakland Hospital, to Noel Sr. and Candelaria Nieves, in Pontiac, Michigan. He graduated from Vocare Center in Pontiac, where he was active in cheerleading and many other activities. We would like to thank all his teachers who played a part in his day to day you are greatly appreciated.

After graduating he started working for New Horizon of Auburn Hills and also Detroit JCC of West Bloomfield.

Noel was the glue that kept his family together and was the kind of person you could not help but love. His joyous spirit can fill even the biggest room. He was the life of the party, wherever there was a dance floor you would find him. Music brought so much joy along with many other things. You could find him working away on his puzzles or on his rocking chair enjoying his favorite wrestler on T.V., John Cena. The love he had for his family was unmatched and reciprocated and anyone who had a chance to know Noel would agree we have truly lost the most beautiful soul here on earth. He was loved by many and will continue to have a place in all our hearts.

Noel is preceded in death by his father Noel Nieves Sr.; his grandparents, Ambrosio Figueroa, Liboria Moyet, Gregorio Nieves, and Maria Echandy; his aunt, Gladys Figueroa; and dear cousin, Roger Figueroa. He is survived by his mother, Candelaria Nieves; his siblings, Dolores (Alonza) Lawson, Tony (Martha) Nieves, Elizabeth Nieves, Andres (Michelle) Nieves, Roxanne (Freddy) Rosado, Silvia Nieves, Roland Nieves, Evelyn (Kevin) Ford, and Ricardo (Manishia) Nieves; uncles, Rafael (Rita) Figueroa, Ramito (Maria) Figueroa, and Rogelio (Gladys) Figueroa; and many nieces and nephews that loved him dearly.

Lastly, we would like to give thanks to his special friends Lydia and Cathy who played a major part in his life.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 11, 2023, from 4:00 – 8:00 pm with rosary prayers at 7:00 pm at Sparks-Griffin Funeral Home, Pontiac Chapel. A funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, April 12, 2023, at 10:00 am at St. Damien of Molokai Parish – St. Vincent De Paul Church.
