Nora Burns

Nora Burns; of Highland; age 97; passed away January 5, 2019. Nora is the beloved wife of the late John F. Burns; loving mother of Terry (Judy) Burns and John (Doray) Burns; loving grandma of Paulette (Shaun) Hayward, Colin (Marcela) Burns, Colby (Fiancé Matthew Mineto) Burns and the late John Burns; and great grandma of Adam, Samantha, Gabriel, Griffin and Conor. She was also the fifth and last surviving sibling. Nora was born in Ardagh County, Limerick, Ireland. For almost 55 years Nora was a proud Hair Stylist and she always got a laugh when she talked about outliving all of her clients. She was a devout animal lover and enjoyed spending time up in Frankenmuth. Everywhere she went, Nora looked like a million bucks, and she never passed up a chance to dress up, wear her dangling earrings and party. Simply put, Nora loved life, and her family fully, and she will be dearly missed by all. Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, January 10, 2019 at 11am at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Lake Orion. The family will receive friends on Thursday at the church from 10am until the time of Mass. Interment will be held at Holy Sepulchre in Southfield. Memorials may be made in Nora’s honor to the Michigan Humane Society.
