Novello Thomas Davies Duffy

Novello Thomas Davies Duffy; died on August 22, 2014. She was born December 22, 1921 in Brynmawr, Wales, Great Britain, the daughter of John James and Ethel May Davies.Novello spent her very early years in Wales. She came to the United States with her family and lived in Scranton, Pennsylvania for a time, eventually settling in Pontiac, Michigan. Novello graduated from Pontiac Senior High School in the June Class of 1939. She participated in most class reunions, serving in various committee and officer roles. Novello was a devoted member of All Saints' Episcopal Church, Pontiac Michigan, where she volunteered in the Altar Guild, Choir, Parish Office and various community outreach activities. On December 1, 1940, Lady Novello Davies was coronated Queen in The Orders of Fleur de Lis and Sir Galahad in The Rite and Ceremony of Coronation at All Saints' Church. Novello married Donald John Duffy on February 6, 1960. They made their home in West Bloomfield, Michigan. Novello thoroughly enjoyed traveling with her husband to various destinations across America and Canada. Novello was preceded in death by her husband, who died February 2, 1984. Novello retired from General Motors Truck & Coach. She was a member in the GM Women's Club and the GM Golden Handshake Club. Novello was a member of The Welsh National Gymanfa Ganu Association. She was also a Life Member of the Waterford Senior Center. Novello is survived by her brother, Lynn Thomas Davies and his wife, Janet; a nephew, Charles Michael; four nieces, Sandra June, Barbara Jean, Elizabeth Ann, and Jennifer Lynne; her great-nieces and great-nephews; her great-great niece; and other relatives and friends.Novello loved God, her family, friends and music. Funeral Service is 11:00 am, Tuesday, August 26, 2014 All Saints' Episcopal Church, 171 West Pike Street, Pontiac, Michigan 48341. Interment Four Towns Cemetery, Waterford, Michigan.
