Olive E Schassburger

Olive Edna Schassburger (Edgley); died peacefully in the presence of family October 20, 2014. She was born January 22, 1922 in Ochre River Manitoba. She was the eighth child of english immigrant homesteaders, Noah and Lily Edgley and was raised on a farm in the hills of West Virgina. Graduating highest in her class at Unidis High in 1940, she was the winner of the "Doctor Ladwig Medal" for highest scholastic achievement. In the early 1940's her family relocated to Windsor, Ontario. In 1950 Olive married Frederick M. Schassburger in Detroit, Michigan and together they had 3 children, Carol (James) Jakimow, Gregory (Julie) Schassburger and Mark Schassburger. She is also survived by her grandchildren Katy, Nicholas, Madeline, Rosalind and Olivia. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, October 31, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at SPARKS-GRIFFIN FUNERAL HOME, Lake Orion.
