Omega Mora Sosa

July 12, 1944 — June 21, 2018

Omega Mora Sosa, age 73, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, June 21, 2018.  Omega was born in Brownsville Texas to the late Jose Mora & Maria Lambert Mora.  She was the beloved wife of Epimenio Sosa, mother of Elizabeth Denise (Steven) Trevino, Monica Ann (Christopher Freeman) Roberts, James Kevin (Amanda Flores) Sosa.  Grandmother of Daniel, Jr., Rachel, James Jr., Julian, Noah, Luke, Angel and numerous great grandchildren. Sister of the late Gamaliel Mora, the late Elind Mora, Dalila Flores, the late Nephtali Mora, Bethsaida Juarez, Omar Mora, the late Julio Mora, Aramis Mora, the late Isaias Mora, the late Saul Mora, the late Eliud Mora, Reina Mora, Linda Palacios and Nereida Hinojosa. She married her high school sweetheart, Epimenio on December 20 th , 1964 and they celebrated 53 years together.  In 1967, after serving as an Air Force military wife for four years in Albian Texas, she and her husband moved to Michigan to build their life and friendships. She was a faithful member of the First Spanish American Baptist Church of Pontiac and a devoted Sunday School teacher for more than 50 years.  She also worked as a bilingual and special education teacher’s assistance for the Pontiac School district for 28 years.  Omega’s life was dedicated to teaching and nurturing children. She diligently supported the efforts of the missionary work in Mexico both financially and by sending supplies that could be used to help minister.  She also volunteered with the Southern Baptist Disaster Relief and served in devastated areas such as New Orleans, LA & Houston and Orange Texas.  She was passionate about the opportunity to serve and share Christ. She was a creative, thoughtful person and lived her life unselfishly always putting other first.  It was her attention to detail that always made everyone feel special. A celebration of life service will be held at First Spanish American Baptist Church, 1533 Giddings Road, Pontiac on Wednesday, June 27 th .  Visitation at 10am and service at 11am.  She will be laid to rest at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, MI.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to the First Spanish American Baptist Church Missions fund.
