OTIS WILSON JR.; age 67; long time resident of Pontiac, MI; passed awayat home on September 16, 2010; after a lengthy series of challenginghealth issues. Otis was born in Tampa. FL on April 2, 1943 to Otis Sr.and Marie (Smith) Wilson. Otis had five younger siblings, Paul (Carolyn)Wilson, Mary (Bennie) Washington, Patricia (William) Richard, JamesCurtis (Jacquelyn) Wilson, and Jeffrey (Nadine) Wilson. After graduatingfrom Middleton High School in Tampa, Otis attended Florida A&MUniversity. In 1965, he moved to Pontiac and was employed by GeneralMotors. Otis married Ellen Koponen on December 29, 1971. Otis and Ellenhave one son, Otis Wilson III. Otis continued his employment withGeneral Motors for 36 years in various areas of supervision and qualitymanagement. He completed a Bachelor of Science degree in CriminalJustice at Wayne State University. Outside of the workplace, he enjoyedfishing, golf, and entertaining his family and friends. Otis is survivedby his loving spouse, Ellen; his devoted son, Otis III; his brother,Paul (Carolyn); sisters, Mary (Bennie) Washington, and Patricia(William) Richard; he is also survived by loving family members, Roy andCassie Jones, Joy Miller, and family, and many additional nieces,nephews, cousins, in-laws, and friends. Otis's family extends fromMichigan, to Florida, New York and Pennsylvania. Otis was preceded indeath by his parents, Otis Sr. and Marie Wilson; his brothers, JamesCurtis Wilson and Jeffrey Wilson. Visitation at Sparks - Griffin FuneralHome, 46 Williams St., Pontiac, MI 48341 on Wednesday, September 22 from5 to 8 p.m. Reflections shared from 7 to 8 p.m. Funeral Services will beat All Saints Episcopal Church, 171 W. Pike, Pontiac, MI 48341, onThursday September 23 at 11 a.m., followed by interment at Perry MountPark. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Otis's name to AllSaints Memorial Fund at P.O.
