Pedro Nieves,Jan. 17, 1945-Jan. 4, 2015 Pedro Nieves age 69 of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, beloved Son of Celedonia Lopez Cartagena and beloved husband of Altagracia Rivera Nieves, dear father of Lillian Jeanette Schonewolf, married to Steven James Schonewolf, Lisa Costanzo, married to Christopher Costanzo and Pedro Rafael Nieves. He was adored grandfather of Jewel Ashley Hutcheson, married to James Richard Hutcheson,Steven James Schonewolf, Jr. and Isabella Bleu Costanzo. He is survived by his beloved brother Israel Nieves, He is also survived by family brothers and sisters in-law, and nieces and nephews. Pedro was recently retired from a construction business he owned for twenty years and formally retired from the Philadelphia Police Department where he served with distinction for sixteen years. Pedro had the ability to make everyone feel they were his best friend. His greatest joy was the love he had for his entire family. "He will be Greatly missed" Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, January 7, 2015 at 10am at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Pontiac. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 6-9pm at Sparks-Griffin Funeral Home, Pontiac.Interment at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Pontiac Michigan.
