Peter Russell Francies

Peter Russell Francies; age 67, of Oxford. Died August 13, 2013 of Alzheimer's Disease. He was a resident of the Memory Care Center at Lourdes Senior Community. Pete is survived by his wife, Kathleen (Katee) and son, Kevin. His daughter, Carli died in 2009. Peter is also survived by his sister, Ellen. He is the son of Ira Russell Francies and Alyce Murtha Ryan Francies, both deceased. He was the son-in-law of Lawrence & Evelyn DeRycke. Pete was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Lake Orion. He was born in Yonkers, New York in 1946 and attended Peekskill High School. He graduated from Tri State College in Angola, Indiana. Pete worked for many years in Real Estate as a Salesman, Broker, Mortgage Lender, and Relocation Specialist. He was a member of the Oxford Library Board and Boy Scout Troop 186 as a committee member. His life-long love of art included his work as a cartoonist as well as oils & pencil sketching. Funeral mass will be held on Friday, August 16, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church. The family will receive friends at SPARKS-GRIFFIN FUNERAL HOME, Lake Orion on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. with scripture prayers at 7 p.m. Reflections may be shared by visiting www.sparksgriffin.com
